How do you follow up the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 hit ever? For Jason Mraz, the answer is try and save the world.

After "I'm Yours" lit up the Hot 100 with its easygoing ukulele licks and unapologetic optimism for a record 76 weeks ending in October 2009 (peaking at No. 6), the singer/songwriter headed to the Gulf of Mexico in the summer of 2010 to help with efforts to clean the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Next was a trip to Ghana to fight child slavery alongside the nonprofit Free the Slaves; a year-and-a-half later, Mraz was in Antarctica, spending time with Al Gore and learning about climate change aboard the National Geographic Explorer.

In between his activist outings, Mraz wrote and recorded his fourth album, "Love Is a Four Letter Word" (out April 17 on Atlantic), with producer Joe Chiccarelli ( Young the Giant, Christina Perri). First single "I Won't Give Up," a slow-burning ode to making a difference, became his second top 10 on the Hot 100. (It's No. 57 this week.) But Mraz says he's less interested in following up his biggest hit than using the power that "I'm Yours" gave him to fuel positive change.



"Thanks to 'I'm Yours,' I'm probably set for a really long time," the 34-year-old says. "The pressure I put on myself, or what I hope my 'I Won't Give Up' does, is to make a difference in people's lives . . . With 'I'm Yours,' I got to go out and set my feet on different continents, and expose myself to different cultures and causes. I wanted to see who I was, outside of music."

Mraz's upbeat pop-rock stylings have caught listeners' ears for a decade. Before "I'm Yours" went from a hastily released demo to a live favorite to the first single from 2008's "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" to the ninth-biggest-selling digital song of all time (6.1 million copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan), his bouncy 2002 debut, "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)," peaked at No. 15 on the Hot 100, and "You and I Both" topped the Triple A chart in 2003. "I Won't Give Up" features a slower tempo and a sparse arrangement, but became a favorite when it was unveiled during Mraz's 2011 tour and inspired viral covers by YouTube stars like Christina Grimmie and Tyler Ward before its official release.

When a studio version of "I Won't Give Up" was issued in January as a preview of "Love," it immediately blasted onto the Hot 100 at No. 8, selling 229,000 downloads in its first week, according to SoundScan. That number has swelled to 906,000, and "I Won't Give Up" has posted top 25 slots on Adult Top 40, Triple A and Adult Contemporary-not bad for a song that, like "I'm Yours," wasn't meant to be a single.

"We were going to release an acoustic version of that song -- it was really meant as a fan piece, just a reminder that the album was coming soon," manager Bill Silva of Bill Silva Management says. "What surprised us is how the fans reacted. We didn't pre-promote the single, we didn't go to radio with it, and this song did 229,000 units its first week in the U.S. There was clearly something resonant about the song, and . . . it immediately shifted the strategy for what the rollout of the album was going to be."

Accordingly, "Love's" release date moved up from May 8 to April 17, and Mraz performed "I Won't Give Up" on "Today" and "Late Show With David Letterman" in February. A music video was released Feb. 17, and has racked up 3.2 million YouTube views. The singer also launched the #IWONTGIVEUP Instagram contest, in which fans could submit their own artwork for the single using the popular photo app.

Like "I'm Yours," "I Won't Give Up" will remain the focus of Atlantic's marketing campaign long after the album release. In the April 14 issue, the track debuted at No. 75 on Hot 100 Airplay, up 6% with 15 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. The May 15 episode of "Glee" will include a cover of the song, and Mraz has appearances on "Ellen" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" scheduled for release week.

However, Atlantic Records Group chairman/COO Julie Greenwald stresses that Atlantic isn't promoting "Love Is a Four Letter Word" soley through its lead single. A four-song, digital-only EP, "Live Is a Four Letter Word," which featured acoustic versions of Love tracks, arrived Feb. 28 and debuted at No. 56 on the Billboard 200.

And when Mraz brings his new material out on the road -- during a world tour that starts June 8 in South Korea -- he'll continue spreading a subtle environmental message by offsetting the 56-date trek's carbon footprint.

"This spring we'll plant saplings that, based on an equation, equals the amount of carbon emissions that I release into the atmosphere with all my flying and traveling with my entourage," Mraz says. "Our tour would be carbon neutral and/or go above and beyond that, and leave a trail of green in our wake."

            West Sumatra offers you many beautiful cities which has each characteristic with many vacation spot to visit. Beach also became the best spot to visit in west Sumatra. One of the most beautiful beaches is located in one of the cities in west Sumatra, Painan.

            The city which ever became the best city in West Sumatra is located 89 km from the capital city of west Sumatra, Padang. It will take two hours to go there by car. It is a bit long trip I guess but you will not regret taka a trip to Painan because trip to Painan is will pass many hills which is very beautiful and from up there you can see Teluk Bayur harbor and beach. It is really beautiful you will never miss it.

            Painan is a tropical city which has sunny climate. Many people said that weather in Painan is quite hot. It is because Painan is located in low land and very near to the beach. The weather in Painan is almost the same with the weather in Padang. It is fresh in the morning and quite hot in the afternoon. Although it is hot in the afternoon it does not mean that the sun will burn your skin, the sun is very fresh which is suit to swimming on the beach.

            Painan is the best place to have a vacation. Painan offers you many beautiful vacation spot. Such as beach, river and hills. Painan has a beautiful beach which is called with Cerocok beach. Cerocok beach is very clean it is good for you to diving, swimming and surfing. Painan is not only god in beach but also have nice hill, I forgot the name of the hill. You can Paragliding in that hill and it will raise up your adrenaline. One thing you can not forget is Painan also has river which is very clean and fresh.

            When you were in Painan you may not miss to try the Special food Painan will offer to you. The special food from Painan is In Minang we call it with Pinyaram, it is kind of pulverize rice that fried and favour it with sugar. Furthermore sate in Painan also very delicious especially for sate Madura. Eventhough it is called sate Madura but it is different from the real sate Madura It is combined with different flavors by Painan people.

            Therefore it is best for you to try Painan as your next trip destination because Painan offer you complete vacation activities.

Why Eiffel Tower was Built?

If we talk about the Wonders of the World buildings, then we will see Eiffel Tower as one of them. However many of us do not know the tower’s past history on why it was build. Everything has the reasonable background, especially for the tower which is to be one of the most recognized buildings in the world.
Primarily, the Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition. It was called Paris Exposition in 1889. The exhibition was organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The purpose of building Eiffel Tower in such structure was to show to the world France’s advancement of technology and beauty. The Eiffel Tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel. It seemed that then the name of the tower was derived from the designer’s last name, “Eiffel”
Another reason on why the tower was built was for scientific progress. Although few realized it, the Eiffel Tower would become the prominent structure in terms of science and technology. Many experiment with temperature, pressure and pendulums were performed atop the unique famous building. Additionally the Eiffel Tower was used for radio transmission tower. Many experiments were conducted atop the Eiffel Tower for radio transmission advancement. Once the Eiffel Tower was proposed to be demolished but it was spared because the tower had the promising future as a radio tower.
From the example of explanation text above, we see that it has the generic structure as follow:
1)    General Statement; the introduction of the passage on why the Eiffel Tower was built.
2)    Sequenced Explanation; this is the main element of explanation text. This explanation is explored to answer the “why” or “how” question introduced in the general statement. From the example above, the text was written to explain why, not how, the Eiffel Tower was built. Then it elaborates the reasons. First is for the show case and the second is for scientific and technological purposes.

TRAVELING BY PLANE OR BY SHIP

People have different point of view for their location. Some of them prefer traveling by plane and some of them prefer traveling by ship. Both this transportation offer each advantageous and disadvantageous. The purpose of this essay is to compare the atmosphere, types of activities, time, and cost of traveling.

I am going to discuss plane first. The aspects I am going to discuss are the atmosphere, types of activities, time, and the cost. The atmosphere in a plane is totally different from ship. For people who do not really care of getting an excited feeling in travelling, a plane will be the right choice of transportation for them because they usually want to have an express transportation. A normal plane only has chairs and a small restroom so we can not do many activities we only can sit and go to the rest room. One the advantageous travelling by plane is faster. Traveling by plane is 10x faster than by ship. Traveling by plane is safer and more comfortable that is why traveling by plane cost a little bit more expensive. It depends on their personal, they prefer to travel by plane or by ship.

I am going to discuss ship second. The aspects I am going to discuss are the atmosphere, types of activities, time, and the cost. People who prefer to travel by ship are people who want to have a different atmosphere in their vacation. Traveling by ship will offer you many amazing moments. You can feel how the ships move, feel the wind, sometime if you are lucky you can see the wonderful sea animals such as dolphins and wheels.  Ships have a large capacity so it is very suit for you who want to have a lot of activities. Ships will provide you many facilities that just like in 5 stars hotel. You will get your own bedroom where there are a bed, and a bath room in your room. You can do activities just like in your home. You can go swimming in the pool, sunbathing, and on the evening you can join a cocktail party in the ship hall. Traveling by ship of course will take longer time than by plane but it will not make you bored because ship offers you many facilities. Traveling by ship a little cheaper than by plane in other case treveling by ship can be more expensive than plane if we chose the luxurious ship.

It does not matter what place a person decides to choose. For me I prefer to traveling by ship because ship offer many activities and the situation Is very comfortable but sometimes it is better to take a travel by plane in case I need to get hurry.
